but our performance is Fotbalové Dres Brazílie MS 2018 still short of the level that we’d like to be at

Bafana Bafana midfielder Steven Pienaar has called for more improvement against Guatemala in an international friendly in Polokwane on Monday night.

The 28-year-old Everton winger pleased with the result against Colombia and now he wants to improve their performance ahead of the Guatemalans and Denmark on June 5.

“Yes, the result was important, but our performance is Fotbalové Dres Brazílie MS 2018 still short of the level that we’d like to be at,” Pienaar mentioned in his personal website, www.steven-pienaar.com.

“Winning is always good for confidence levels, but we need to improve – the game against Denmark is likely to be the most accurate gauge of our state of readiness to tackle the world’s best,” he said.

“I knew that I wouldn’t be starting because I was the last into camp and the coach wants to integrate me step-by-step into the team. I’ve no problem with that. What probably was a little disappointing for me was the role that I had to play – next to KG and with a ‘No.10′ in front of me.

“I just felt that this was not the position where I am able to create the maximum for the team’s benefit … but I’ll play any where the coach [Carlos Alberto Parreira] wants me to play. This is a team game,” the former Borussia Dortmund player said.

“He had a very good game and he is growing in Fotbalové Dresy MS 2018 confidence and stature with every game,” Pienaar praised the centre-back Bongani Khumalo.

Pienaar made his international debut for South Africa in a 2–0 win against Turkey in 2002 and has since accumulated 46 caps and 2 goals.
